After having completed their studies and initiated their individual careers in different european and american institutions, the paths of the members of the group crossed in Barcelona, where they had all arrived to deepen their training in historical performance practice on period instruments. This gathering, along with the desire of creating a space of their own where to experiment their own ideas and prospects, gave birth to the ensemble The Ministers of Pastime.

Besides their training in institutions like Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona), Koninklijk Conservatorium (The Hague), Conservatorio Alessandro Scarlatti (Palermo) or Abbaye aux Dames (Saintes), the members of the ensemble have collaborated in some of the most renowned groups of the historically informed performance european scene, such as Le Concert des Nations, Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Academia Montis Regalis, Cappella Mediterranea, Ensemble Pulcinella, European Union Baroque Orchestra, La Real Cámara or Orchestre des Champs-Elyesées. They have worked alongside musicians like Jordi Savall, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Philippe Herreweghe, Marc Minkovski, Hervé Niquet, Alessandro de Marchi, Ophélie Gaillard, Leonardo García Alarcón, Amandine Beyer, Chiara Banchini, Emilio Moreno, Alfredo Bernardini, Manfredo Kraemer, Pedro Memelsdorff and Enrico Onofri.

Committed from the very outset with the idea of collectivity, the group nourishes on their different individual backgrounds and origins, as well as on the bonds that bind them together, to be able to jointly develop projects that seek to combine high quality musical standards and musicological rigour.

The Ministers of Pastime has been recently selected to integrate EEEMERGING+, the prestigious program that supports and promotes young emerging ensembles in the European early music scene. In 2020 they were also selected as winners of the NEWTRACKS@FBAS 2020 call for emerging groups in the early music stage, within the Alessandro Stradella Baroque Festival.
